Hey Friends! This week’s theme is High Fantasy Adventure.

Last year in September, I threw the most fun party I have EVER thrown. The theme was High Fantasy. It took me close to 3 months to plan, I lost money, I had to practically beg people to go, but in the end it was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my DJ Career to date.

I hired over 20 Characters to be a part of the High Fantasy Party, and attendees had to complete their quest at the beginning of the party. They received magic crystals, talismans, potions, or other small trinkets as part of their quest, and all the quests fed in to a bigger story line that culminated in the King getting poisoned, the crowd saving him with magic, and the evil sorceress getting stabbed. It was awesome. For the first 2 hours, I played Medieval covers of pop songs, and for the last two we had a wild dance party. Why the sudden interest in Ren Faire’s and Medieval parties? My Disco TX parties are somewhat immersive experiences usually, and these are my favorite types of parties to throw. Ren Faires were some of the first widely popular immersive experiences in the Unites States. The first one took place in 1963 in California as a living history event called the “Renaissance Pleasure Faire” for families, and they have evolved since in to something entirely different. Beyond the obvious fun to be had, there is a lot to be learned from these events that millions of people turn out to every year.

On April 14, we’re doing our second High Fantasy event! It’s even more ambitious than our first party, and I hope you will attend. We are setting up camp at Sherwood Forest Ren Faire! With 2 nights of camping, an amazing themed afterparty on April 15, and a day of exploring the Faire. Your ticket includes 2 Breakfasts and two dinners, A ticket to Sherwood Forest Faire on Saturday April 15, a camping pass for the weekend, and entrance to the most well planned, crazy after party I’ve ever thrown. You can buy tickets at DiscoTX.com, and we are only selling 40 total! I don’t want to be responsible for more than 40 of you for an entire weekend.

A little about the afterparty. I just purchased 3 Medieval Tents. 2 are 15x24 feet and one is 12x12 feet. They cost around $5,000 but hopefully I have other reasons to use them soon! The tents will house our immersive acts, kitchen, lounge, and other fun surprises. The after party will be lit by a ceiling of mushrooms, Ill be DJing, there will be a tarot card reader, story teller, aerialist, burlesque, and other character actors and installations. I don’t know if words do the event justice. Camping together with a large group, sharing meals, dressing up for the weekend, throwing a party together, and attending the Ren Faire will be tons of fun!
